New Product Launch Summer 2002By using all of Evolution Aqua's knowledge and experience in product design as well as manufacturing and engineering, the Nexus filtration system revolutionises the way Koi Carp pools are filtered. |
The Nexus is the first filtration system to provide all Koi keepers with premium performance at an affordable price. Kaldnes 'moving bed process', exclusive to Evolution Aqua, is included with the Nexus. This uniquely designed media provides amazing water quality and clarity, especially when it has reached full maturity. Kaldnes bio-media is maintenance-free, allowing the biomass to fully mature, which maximises its effectiveness and creates constant parameters. |
Design Features The Nexus is a compact unit which can be pump or gravity-fed. With a small footprint, it can be fitted into the smallest garden. For gravity fed systems, smaller excavation is required thus huge savings can be achieved when building your pond. The highly-durable rotor-moulded unit with a thick wall construction makes the Nexus a sturdy robust unit designed to last. The Nexus comes complete with discharge valves, and all appropriate connection fittings. Both discharge valves are located together for easy access. It has easily adjustable rubber boots for simple connection to new or existing pipework. Twin lids can be supplied and it is already designed to accept future optional add-ons which are currently under development at Evolution Aqua. Simplicity and price performance is key in the Nexus design. |

For the ultimate in water quality filtration, an Answer 410 or 325 with an orifice place, can be easily retrofitted within minutes. The Nexus has been created to provide a perfect environment for the Answer, which optimises pond efficiency, water quality and clarity. |

The Filtration Process At the first filtration stage, the newly developed vortex can also be enhanced with the Answer 410 or 325. The Answer is a self-backwashing fine-screen filter, which is low maintenance and gives you excellent water quality. The water is then passed through to the bio filter, which utilises the patented Kaldnes moving bed process, which requires a 40 litre per minute air pump. |

The Evolution Aqua Range Evolution Aqua has invested heavily in product development and innovation. Listening to the feedback we receive from Koi keepers, we are constantly striving to improve and increase the range. |

The Proline filter range has been developed in conjunction with some of the top professionals in the industry. The design brief was simple 'no compromise.' The Proline Filter range will provide unparalleled water quality combining truly effective mechanical filtration before the biological stages for the first time in a koi filter system. This has allowed us to look again at how we design the biological stages. The settlement cones have now become obsolete allowing us to redesign the vortices with a true upflow pattern no longer being disrupted by the 'elephants trunk' style pipe arrangement. This gives a very even waterflow through the media utilizing the entire cartridge and leaving no potential dead areas resulting in greatly increased efficiency. Another area we looked at again was interconnecting pipe sizes. We found that if transfer pipes of 125mm or 150mm were used, the vortex spin speed was slower allowing a stall effect in the flow pattern with the water attempting to track to the vortex exit tube. We settled on 100mm transfers and have accommodated any subsequent head loss within the design. Another issue was the actual cartridge/media itself. The new media containment units make the cleaning of the bio stages a simple case of occasionally rattling the cartridge in situ to remove minute quantities of dust that pass through 'The Answer', resulting in no loss of biomass whatsoever thus allowing the media to truly mature. The construction of the filter line was another subject that we considered carefully and again we decided that as with 'The Answer,' these filters would be built to last forever. |

Removable Screens 'The Answer' range now includes removable screens for ease of maintenance. Evolution Aqua will also be supplying a wider range of screens to suit different flow rates and systems. High quality chromium-nickel brushed stainless steel, all fully welded construction to ISO 9000 standards, designed to ISO 9001, the highest benchmark in the engineering industry. They are built to include all interconnecting pipework, are fully modular and easy to install with adjustable feet to facilitate levelling. Every tank is individually tested and is guaranteed for the lifetime of the product. |

'The Answer' This is the original product in our range - a screen filter with permanent backwash from the inside via a rotating arm powered by a built in pump. The filter is a simple retro fit to existing vortex/settling chambers, dramatically improving the performance of existing systems, the water clarity and ultimately resulting in improved fish health. |
